Why should I purchase through your site?
You may be thinking, I can just buy this stuff on Amazon. Why should I buy on this site? That’s a fair assessment. You’re absolutely right. You can hop right over to Amazon and make your purchases there. But we’re hoping that you won’t. Here’s why.
Have you ever searched a large retailer for a gift or specific type of item, and felt overwhelmed by the sheer volume of choices? We at Old School Reads are high on Amazon. We hope that the fact that we hand curate book-themed items just for you enhances your Amazon shopping experience.
As you make a purchase through our site you will be entitled to the same protections and incentives you typically receive during any other Amazon transaction (e.g., express shipping, secure payment, etc.). When you make a purchase through our Amazon affiliate links (throughout the site), we earn a commission at no additional cost to you. You’re helping to keep the Old School Reads dream alive. We love you man.Back to Index
What is an Amazon affiliate?
Amazon is one of the most trusted online retailers in the world. The Amazon Associates program, members of which are often referred to as Amazon affiliates, allows website owners, web developers, and Amazon sellers to earn a commission by advertising products from Amazon.com and its subsidiaries. When website owners and bloggers who are Associates/Affiliates create links and customers click through those links and buy products from Amazon, the site owner earns a commission at no additional cost to the customer.Back to Index
What types of books do you review?
We typically review books that are at least 25 years or older, but reserve our right to review any tasty new reads that catch our eye. While our reviews include a wide range of genres, we will not review books of a sexual, graphically violent or otherwise non-family friendly nature. We’re staying in the “safe to view at work” zone.Back to Index
Will you review my book?
While we love authors, especially independent authors, we do not typically accept books for review. The reason being that the site focuses on Old School Reads (not current releases). If you would like to offer a digital version of your book, without the requirement or expectation of a book review, please send an email to that effect. For contact details, visit our Contact Page. You might also consider doing a guest post, in which case you can include a bio, a link to your website or current project, including your book.Back to Index
Do you accept guest posts?
Yes. Yes. And Yes. We are always happy to have guest posts on the site. Posts must be about books or reading; and family friendly. We only accept content that has not and will not be published on another website.
Do you have a guest post idea? Reach out to us through our Contact Page. Thank you for your interest.Back to Index
What will I get out of guest posting?
For sure you will get that warm and fuzzy feeling of contributing to the book lover community. You will also get a link back to your site or project, along with a brief bio where you can promote your site or project. Our curator will promote your post like the wind, which we hope will bring you new readers, opportunities and friends.Back to Index
